Reading all the petrol company hype and threads around the extra power generated by V Power and the like, I wonder if we should be telling our beloved insurers what grade of go-juice we use.

If they want to know about winter tyres and the like then "high power" fuels may be a concern for them too?

Ha ha dont give them ideas to add more £££ to our premiums

Im surprised they dont stipulate what tyre's we can and cant use, Ive seen so many high powerd cars running on cheap and cheerfull rubber, shocking really

when i worked for a Tyre fitting company i was shocked at the amount of expensive high power cars running on budget tyre's the owners didnt seem to give a darn about it either but at the end of the day the customer was the one who got the final decision on what brand they wanted all we could do was advise them

It is a concern when you consider that good tyres are as important as good brakes when driving as in my case a vehicle weighing about 2 tons, It is only logical to fit the very best tyres which you can afford to buy.

In my opinion if you cannot afford to fit decent tyres you cant afford the car. Its not just the best you can afford to buy if that makes sense.

People often over look the running costs of a car when they are budgeting for them. Tyres and brakes are 2 key areas that often get overlooked.
