Just purchased 2017 220d amg line estate. Would like to get in touch with other owners.

How do you find the C300?

Superb. We've had it almost exactly 3 years now ... with 254 bhp it's decently quick when you want it to be, but still but gives 45+ mpg on a long run. We had a 2007 W203 before (again petrol, a 2.5 V6) and the 205 is a big step up in comfort & build quality (also bigger).

Bit late for that. So you're basically saying all diesel cars made after 2016 are not worth buying?!
Pretty much yes. If you are doing high mileage (20k ish plus pa) then they become a better proposition because you will get fewer problems with the adblue and DPF systems and you will get the benefit of the lower fuel consumption. I would not worry about the DPF; the adblue faults will be the biggest pita with all diesel cars - it is not just MB it is all of them. It is not just the high cost of the parts it is also the availability of the parts and the fact that faults in the adblue system are required (as part of the emissions regulations) to prevent it from starting. I would not buy one.

First sign of any Nox sensor or adblue warnings, if you take it to a garage can be a long never ending road costing thousands for as long as you own the car. Or, for £300 to £500, get it remapped with an adblue and EGR delete and you will not be hit in the wallet anymore.

Until your wallet takes an even bigger beating when the MOT requirements get tightened up - which they will it is just a question of when. I prefer my approach of not owning one.

Is that what you did? It looks like you've got a very similar car to mine looking at your profile picture. Just picked up mine yesterday and it drives beautifully. I'm in love!

I had a 2015 c220 premium plus estate from new...was fantastic...except the airmatic suspension kept messing about at 7 years old...so I got rid..it was a super car and faultless other than the drivers seat squab falling apart at low miles just out of warranty and the external door handle lights failing...got some goodwill frfom the dealer though...I loved that car but kept it too long...I bought a VW Taigo 1.0 tsi R Line Auto and no longer miss the Merc Suprisingly..Enjoy the car but beware of the nox sensors...
Did you have problems with the nox sensors?

Only the ones with AdBlue. Why make life difficult/cpmplicated for yourself ?
Well, one piece of good news is I've got a 2 year warranty which covers things like problems with DPF and nox sensors. The car is so much more refined than my w204 it's not funny.

I did not have the software update done...But I understand the person who bought it from the dealers had to have them changed weeks after buying it...The dealer did the update prior to resale...lucky for the new owner it was sold with 1 yr approved used Mercedes warranty

Good move. Warranty is very important with all modern Diesels (and not just those equipped with AdBlue).

Did you buy it from an MB dealer, or from an independent trader?

Independent retailer. At that price (£12,000) you wouldn't get a car anything like this from an MB dealership!

No , the MB dealerships get shot of Adblue trade in cars to the auctions ASAP , can't be doing with the expense of fixing the adblue system under warranty.

Only joking .................................
