the reason i mentioned that is something about total closure , when you leave the windows down a long 10 second press puts the windows up .

It does but only if you point the fob at the little black window in the driver's door handle from about a foot away. That said mine would only ever work if I shaded the fob from sunlight and was about 2-3 inches from the handle! You have to hold the button down until the function has completed, or it will stop part way

argh ok , i was hoping to see a different light after 10 seconds through my camera , but nothing changes . must just be IR i can see .

Take note of Step 4: Program / Synchronize Remote.

Also, if you accidentally unlock the car with remote fob, the car will re-lock again within 40 seconds provided no door has been opened.

today i had a new key made, it opens the doors from 30 yards , so clearly the problem was lying within the old key .
