Key Syncing Issue…....

Hi,

I’ve been searching around for the past few hours with no joy. I need help regarding my key fob as It no longer locks or unlocks the doors.
I noticed, it started working intermittently in the snowy weather, then after a few weeks it just stopped working. I decided to change the battery as the red indicator flash was getting very faint, unfortunately it still doesn't work. I've tried a few re-syncing procedures from the net but I’m not sure if they are for my modal (51 plate c230k) as the fob still doesn't work, luckily I have no issues starting the car.

Can anyone help me pleeeeasssseee!!!

Also while I’m here, how do I get the digital speedo on my dash to change from KM/H to MPH. I’ve tried going through the settings and setting the option to MPH but nothing?

You may need a new key. There is no re-sync for it.

The keys seem to be a law unto themselves. The electronics on the Viano went haywire with high speeds indicated even though it was stationary! Left the key in it one day and it locked me out. Took some investigating before the key was found to be the culprit and a new one was required which is a whole new story. There is someone on ebay who repairs the keys but as so many functions depend on it perhaps a replacement would be advised. Not cheap but that's Mercedes.

Quite possibly a faulty key, point it directly at the black square on the driver door handle if it still doesn't work it probably knackered.

As said there is no reset procedure.

Miles/km must both be displayed by law on the cluster.
