i currently only have one key for my car and it has started to split were the buttons are,i have seen some replacement key fobs on ebay but you have to swap the internals into it,is it much of a job as i would hate to destroy the only key i have.
Your all set then. Your man, using the destructive method in the video, is, I think, a bit rough, he may be using too much twisting force and could damage the delicate components that are soldered on the PCB.
A better destructive method is to use nail clippers to nibble the shell open a tiny bit at a time.
Takes longer but much safer than a pliers..
i used a feeler gauge which i filed to give it a tooth so i could catch the white bit of plastic, place under the white plastic, move it to the left, and pull it out, the circuit board should come out with it. do not forget to remove the mechanical key and separate the two halves of the plastic to get to the circuit board.
