A very considerate yob/chav/loser decided to key my car down the drivers side. The door and rear quarter have a long scratch running down it.

Does anyone know any good paint repair specialists in North West/West London?

Would rather have the scratch repaired myself then claim on the insurance if possible.

Saw this the other day here. A 5 series keyed from front wing to rear quarter. There are some losers about as you say.

Really don't see the satisfaction they get from doing it.

My car was parked out of the way next to a wall in a car park. The person would have to intentionally walk over to my car, key it and walk back out from between my car and the wall... not even a 'walk-by' keying.

Every car on my street was keyed last month (except out Merc, as it was parked on an adjacent street!). They got the BMW though, luckily it is only used as a dog wagon - crash about car as it is so old, so I am not too bothered.

Felt sorry for my neighbours though - from renault clio to Porsche 997, nothing was spared.

Feel for you though - it is such a mindless act.

Sorry to hear about the car. Someone keyed my cousins clk all down the side from the drivers door to the rear a few weeks after she got it. It was repaired by an independant bodyshop in wembley recommended by a friend at the main dealer. Can highly recommend them. Have pm'd you details.

Sorry to hear of your car damage. It happened to my S 2 years ago.
Like yourself, I didn't want to involve the insurers as the excess (and subsquent lack of no claims) was quite steep. My local MB dealer gave a competetive quote and had the advantage of maintaining the Mercedes paint warranty. A card bending £450 :mad:but they did a great job and the car looked brand new.

I've been quoted £400 by a local body shop guy I know, but he can't do it for a good few weeks yet.

I'll visit MB Collindale on the weekend and see what the prognosis is.

I will be selling this car ASAP as my family is growing and the coupe is a little too small. It hurts to have to spend money on it for paint repairs seeing as its been kept mint for the 2 years I've had it.

Chips Away in St Albans did a fine job on a metre-long key scratch on my car. Like their rivals, they are franchised, so go by personal recommendation. Ask a local car dealer who they use.

I had two wings and two doors done on my last MB. Deep scratches too. Cost over a grand to put right.

Handily, a neighbours CCTV caught the bitch who did it - she did all the cars down one side of our road. Apparently she was know to the police, and got nicked, but got off because she was clinically mental, or whatever the PC term is nowadays. Apparently social workers etc suggested it wouldn't be in her or our interest in taking her through court, so the cops dropped it.

Welcome to England.

Try Tony Paynes 01753 653 424, he is not that far from you and very good.

My car is currently with ITAL Coachworks in Wembley, worth giving Gary a call on 02089021211.
