kick down

Changed my pedals today and have since noticed no kickdown..

All i get is the normal gear change and not the usual thrust of power..

What could i have done?

Is this the 'normal range' kickdown or the extra change given if you push the pedal all the way and activate the switch at full depression?

If the latter is it as simple as the pedal is slightly bigger/in a different place and fouling on the carpet - stopping it travelling all the way down.

Not too sure..

I think it is the latter as I am getting kick down which was the same as before.

Its just that when i press the pedal i get the same - and when i use kickdown its the same.

I had a feeling the pedal may be the culprit but just want to make sure i have not done anything wrong!

Just took the car out and i have kickdown but without the need of using kickdown!!

If I press the pedal to the floor without using kickdown i have kickdown. I get the normal gearchange if i am light on the pedal.

Can I live with this? Please reply

well well well.

just took the pedal apart and guess what.. the cable below was stuck in between the screw.

I cannot believe i have done this! I think what was happning before was the kickdown button was bypassed and came on when the pedal was pressed firmly. Since drove and all seems to be ok.

The brown cable had come in two so have now as a temporaray measure rejoined and taped up.

Anyone have a part number for this lead?
