Knocking noise

Hi my name is Mike and i own a 2002 c220 cdi. I have had the car 2 weeks and i have noticed a knocking noise coming from the front suspension when i brake hard and also when i go over a pot holes can anyone help me. Regards Mike

No worries, I have found this on another forum (i'm not a member, just googled it) It would seem that Mercedes upgraded the parts at some point so make sure you get the newer part W203 suspension (again) - Mercedes-Benz Owners' Forums

If you post up regarding an Independent Specialist near Fleet Hampshire you should get some honest replies.

Had to change the lower ball joint on my C220 coupe a few weeks ago, i brought one from E-bay for £35 postage included (the hole arm btw), took about 30 mins to change, the lower strut was made by excel components ltd. some say you should change the other side too, but i don't see the point..i noticed it by checking the wheels for bearing play, nice easy job btw, a couple of 21mm spanners/socket is all you need and a ball joint tool..hope this helps
