Landsail gone in 10k miles

Nicebutdim can i ask what size you fitted ? . My Landsail cost £180 for four tyres all in,, size was 2o5 x 60 x 15 . No more expensive rubber to sit on the drive to go tits up . Last set of Avons cost a fair bit .and that split in less than 4.000 miles but they were 4 years old .

My sizes are 245 45 17. £110 per pair plus fitting.

Well. Just to wrap things up. It appears it is not that unusual to eat a set of tyres in 10k miles.

The E320 (v6) is a big heavy car that puts a fair amount of torque and power through the back wheels. Soft compound tyres will wear quickly.

My thoughts are that tyre wear can be relative. Relative to the person sat in that right-hand front seat. I could be an up and coming Jenson Button and my interpretation of everyday motoring may well be different to that of my wife who once overtook a cyclist (okay, they were pushing their bike)

If someone is happy with 10k on a set of tyres, then good for them :). No way could I judge if that is good, bad or indifferent :)

I saw only 4k from a pair of falkens , straight 6 e320 with a tuning box fitted.

Well Nexen are the hardest wearing tyres I have found on the big mercedes and they are not that expensive, like lots of tyre makers they are going the competition route and you can see their name on the Man Utd shirts, and getting a few car makers to fit them,a while ago Porsche fitted them from new on their 4X4
