Hi All.....just trying to find as much info as poss before i try to find a late 70s SL.... seen a couple of ads that say 2+2..... all the photos ive looked at have 4 seats.....so are they all 2+2.. based in west of England, Ludlow......any recommendations of specialists who have good cars.....or local enthusiasts i can meet up with....best regards & thanks ....Steve

w107 has 2+2 and also w129 has 2+2 bigger space than w230.

but if u need proper 2+2 the w124 is one the best and higher value than clk because they are rare

The SLC was a proper 2+2, with a longer wheelbase but only available as a coupe.

The seats in the back of an SL will be almost impossible for an adult to use, maybe a small child.

Hi All ..thanks for the replies....what im after finding out is are the R107 all 2+2 or are some just 2 seater..not interested in having someone in the back..just looking for any differences in the 107 models...dont see why u would advertise a R107 2+2 if there wasnt any other model....Thanks Steve

Iirc
107 came as standard with a carpeted platform behind the seats.
A rear seat was an option, and seem to remember that you had to sit sort of 'across' it.

The one iv seen has 2 rear seats seperated by an armrest and 2 seatbelts fitted......were all the 107s the same wheelbase , door length the same etc thanks Steve

Thanks JJJ......just had a quick look at their site..not to far from me.... will pay a visit...do u know if they are a trusted supplier......have u dealt with them.......certainly looks like the place to start looking.............best regards Steve

SL-Shop are probably the biggest specialist in the country for 107s they are certainly the one you hear about most in articles and so on about them. They have many vocal supportive customers. With any business from time to time you hear of someone grumbling slightly but I don't recall hearing anything serious that would put me off.

The proprietors are active in the Mercedes owners club scene and hosted an event a year or two ago that I went to, it's certainly an impressive set-up.

I've never used them because they are too far away from me but they'd be one of the outfits on my list to talk to if I was considering a really big job where the travel etc. was not so much of a concern.

My 107 has the rear seats. We do use them a fair bit because my children are small at the moment. They came with lap-belts but we had 3 point belts fitted so we could but child seats in. We have carried adults in the back for short distances but no-one of adult size is going to be comfortable back there and the front passengers would need to move their seats uncomfortably far forward.

No, really know nothing about them other than they filled a gap in the market a few years back and have become well known in M-B circles for SL's. Also have a look at the private adverts posted on their site if you are finding their stock SL's a bit pricy, even if they are overall reasonable value. As my Grandmother always said buy cheap, buy twice. I think may apply to SL's.
