Late W124 E220 coupe project £495

Its not on ebay and its not mine but i spotted this 1996 e220 coupe project for sale that looked like it could be a cheap DIY project or just a decent spares source for someone.

Block/head could be split due to frost or it could just be a block plug/CHG . Problem with non runners its impossible to check the running gear- brakes autogearbox -differential etc. In my experience one major fault is not usually enough to consign a car to the scrapheap its usually 2 or more. Still if you had a M111.961 engine kicking about???????

It's only cheap IF you can do most of the work yourself and have the parts or can source them cheap enough.

It's still done 200K+ miles and has rusty arches etc. With cars going cheaper than ever, it's simply cheaper and easier to buy a straight one for most people.

It's still a bit of a bargain though at £495, you could probably get more than that back by breaking it for spares - leather, alloys, electrical parts etc.

Offer £400 for the complete car, swap the interior and flog it on. I'd be surprised if you lose much (obviously less than the cost of your leather trim!)
