Launch of new C Class

Whites the new black then?

Got my invite for Tamworth Branch.. Will go along and buy it as demo model in December :D

For a nice fresh Summer look white is a great colour, just lousy in the winter, but still better than black as it is so much easier to look after and as the pigment is the hardest it isn't affected by bird droppings.

I've had white cars and said not again as they are a bit boring, I've had black and said Never again..!!

I've had 4 invites from various dealers! There is a C class at my local MB but covered, get too close and you are ushered away!!

Can i disagree with you on this one... i like white... i dont like the cleaning maintenance, compared to the black. I've had 2 white (1 solid, 1 metallic) and 3 black cars... all 3 black cars (1 solid paint, 2 Metallic) have been much better to clean and look after than the white ones, tar marks for starters are a pig when the councils decide to spend money on resurfacing roads. Just that the black ones are crap in the summer with the heat. 2 silver motors have been ok to clean also:confused:

I got an invite to Whitefield's c-class launch, not decided if I can be bothered to go.

I haven't had one :( - and I've got an almost 3 yr old C Class, so you'd have thought I would be a prime target. And I registered with MB for the early info :( :(

I wouldn't dream of buying one until they've settled down a bit though, although I will be very interested to see if they've fixed the 'drifting to the left' that all C Class's seem to do.

Execpt mine! :D

Just as all the Police forces have gone for Silver or blue to help residuals..Oops.

Just heard the woman on Big Brother say -- Black is the only colour for a car and silver is for people who have given up..lol

On my factory tour in Stutgartt - told 22% of all Mercs are silver - that was in 1998:bannana:

Interesting article in the latest top gear mag btw - comparing a base c class with a stacked mondeo and a Alfa 159...

Interesting - have you done anything to it, or has it always run straight and true?

Yep, ever since I've had it, just 12months. Had a change of tyres in that time too, no difference. Am I a lucky one?

Maybe somebody else had the tracking 'corrected' - I've never heard of one that didn't at least drift left with the road camber before.

And how do the tyres were, nice and evenly.

There was a tendency to correct the drift by adjusting the camber but this really wrecked the n/s tyre.

Previous set, fine, this set, fine. Wear is even, slightly more on the edges at the front but I would expect that. The only problem I notice is tramlining but with careful adjustment of tyre pressures seems to cure it.

Similar model, no drift. Nearside front tyres have usual outer tread wear.

What tyres suit this model...Dunlop,Avon or Goodyear.?

Goodyear were noisy on my old (late lamented 250TD) model.

Splitpin

My steering wheel turn to the left if I let go of it. The car almost steers left not just drifts left.

Hooray - my invite turned up today!

I'm not sure which is sadder - my feeling relieved that I did get invited or people who do actually go to 'static' car launches at dealers showrooms!

There's also a suggestion that if I want a test drive I should go to the test drive weekend 16/17th.

Im still of the oppinion that the W203 facelift interior is superior to the W204's

Id be interested to find out otuer peoples thoughts on it too.

My C270 Estate ran true too, but then I did have the tracking checked regularly ...
