Leather treatment and chrome interior bits

suggestions please on what to use to clean the leather upholstery up and to keep it in tip top shape. As little elbow grease required would be good (I'm a lazy git :p)

Also, where's the best place to get chrome heater rings and chrome gear lever surround?

What car do you have? If w202/w210/w208 you could get if the heater rings from ebay.de powerstyling a lot of members have gotten stuff from him.
As for the gear surround, you could check your local stealer. Part no could be found in the threads. Price 7+ squids.

For leather use the Meguiars Leather Cleaner and then conditioner

You can get this from various places but extreme car care have free postage.

The Autoglym Leather Care is also good this is a combined cleaner conditioner. Once it is all clean you could use this every couple of months.

thanks for the help guys.

I have recently taken possession of a 1997 AMG C36. First merc and quite pleased with it. Just need to sort out the fluctuating temperature gauge now. LOL

You have to email them for the prices!!!! It does seem a bit ridiculous to have a web site with no prices doesnt it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leather cleaner

If you go to the $tealer and buy the Mercedes leather cleaner (cheap) it is rebadged Meguiars, as is all of their polish and cleaner range.

thanks Pietre. Think I'll pop out at lunchtime to get some cleaner and a chrome gear surround from the dealer.

will have a look at powerstyling

cheers

got some leather cleaner over the weekend from a dealer. squirted some onto a cloth then wiped ARRGHH!! it goes straight through the perforated leather. Didn't think about this beforehand! nuts

I use baby wipes to clean my leather - I keep a pack in the car to degrease any bits that the kids have pawed ;)

Try the stuff from http://www.leatherique.com . European distributor is in Norway.

Read the instructions first, the order of applying the stuff is just opposite than you think. Works well with MB perforated leather as well.

Hi markku!
Have you tried the stuff? I was contemplating to order it and was wondering whether anybody has used it in this forum. This is due to the fact that hot days are numbered here and we'll probabaly not getting any more till next summer-well in Scotland anyway!

One more thing the US website has advertised its 32oz kit for the rejunevator oil and pristine clean for $50, a lot cheaper than their European distributor. Plus with postage it could be about cheaper by around 15 quids savings (provided that you're not stung by the import/vat by HMS customs-if you were than it going to be only 7-8 quids saving).

Is worth importing from the US or through their European dealer?

Hi Rizal,

We had few warm days even in Finland this summer. I have applied electric heater ( 550 W ) inside the car if the weather has been cool, same heater is used during winter together with engine heater.

Have used the stuff for 4 years now with good success and bought it from Norway. It works very well if you follow the instructions.

I also treated the vinyl parts which have previously been treated with silicone stuff. Leatherique pumped out the nasty silicone shine and it was replaced with nice original semimatt finish.
