Looking for some Track control arms, Lemforder are coming up at £180 for a pair at ECP, TRW £130 at GSF.

I have always gone with lemforder, but GSF don't have it for this item? Is Lemforder worth the £50 premium?

I have heard TRW is an equivalent premium brand anyway...

Thanks

both owned by zf so parts will be equivalent in quality . i just fitted trw to the cls yesterday , cant fault them ....

I am having a think, the middle ball joints on the arm are shot. So rather than just replacing the ball joints separately (£40 for the pair) I think maybe its more viable to replace both entire arms (£135 for the pair) as then the 2 bushes on the arms will also be renewed? They look quite old.

What do you think?

Think you'll find they all come out of the same factory

Gav, I tried you use your website but couldn't get it to work with my new reg number. Do you know how long it takes to update bud?

i replace the lot whilst its in bits. if its knocking chances are its the lower hub ball joint , best change them whilst its in bits also .

Lower ball joints changed last week already bud ;)

Yeh I also think just change the whole arm. Will update in due course.

Cheers

TRW are OEM. I replaced all of my CLK's front suspension with a mix of trw & lemforder - my guess is it's the same but in different packaging. Would just get whichever is cheaper.

Yes, this is what I would do, get the whole arm complete with bush and ball joint.

Works with Brutus Reg number buddy, not sure, shouldn't take long. Prices are "Click n Collect only" via the website.

If you see anything you particularly like please give me a Pm or Call buddy i can tweak most of those prices and include Postage within Uk mainland

Any opinion between Lemförder and Meyle HD for front control arms and lower ball joints?
I imagine bot are top quality, just wanted to know if someone has any good/bad experience with either.

I find with expensive cars I would go OEM from MB. Parts usually, fit better and last longer.

However for Japanese and general run abouts, go with motor factor parts.

This is from my experience.

Meyle seems to be a hit and miss make, rather like Febi. I'd stick with Lemfoerder or MB original.

german Fleabay has many shops with great deals on Lemförder parts for w202 and other MB cars.
shipping is also verry cheap from Germany.

genuine MB original part upper track control arm (querlenker) bought from german stealership is approx 200 euro each for w202 sport version.
on german Fleabay you can get a pair of Lemfoerder querlenker for a bit less than €100 euro.

I wonder if these parts are still made in german factory nowadays or somewhere else like China - Taiwan - Italy or Türkey?
if Lemfoerder is made somewhere else but Germany, quality is far less good than equivalent german made part.
steel arm quality is inferior compared to german made parts.
rusty rustbuckets!
