Let Battle Commence. Foam Cannon test

Lee, I am using Meguirs Last Touch Spray Detailer which I am happy with. I have tried their Ceramic Wax with mixed views. Sometimes it was fine, others it left marks which require fairly hard rubbing. The last touch is simply spray on wipe off. On the S63 takes around 5-10 mins, probably nearer 5mins.
That's cool buddy, as long as your happy then stick with it buddy, another great alternative for drying aids and toppers for coatings is Kamikaze overcoat V3, its expensive but a 250ml bottle would last about a year using it weekly. Carpro EH20, diluted 1/20, garage therapy 2 sigma as a topper. There are loads out there, I'm not suggesting you change if your happy with it. But dont be afraid to try new products.

Always good advice Lee and I have subscribed to the YouTube channel. Looking forward to seeing more in the future. 😁
Ah cheers buddy, tbh I only starting using it so I could post video on here. Lol

Looks like they have sold out of them with the Karcher fitting
They may do fella, the other alternative is to get yourself a short trigger QR gun, they are only around £25.00, makes car detailing so much easier

I've written this out again, for those that didn't get it
Let the Battle commence!!!, how can the entry level cannon compare with the big hitter.
In2detailing lance
Autobrite lance
Detail Driven lance
MTM Hydro

They all vary in total output, but the build quality goes to Detail Driven and MTM

Ok guys here's the results on my testing, I know the reviews are going to subject to your own personal preferences and JW system. So I'm prepared for for some stick 😉

My test was done with the Direct Hoses All Black 9

For this test I have used BH Autofaom, known for its lack of foam compared to others, hence why I used it in order to get a fair comparison of foam

All have been used at a PIR of 2% diluted according to thier flow rates to show how well they perform in foaming. All have new gauze filters and have been thoroughly cleaned through.

So 1st up
The cheapest lance
In2detailing lance £15
It's a basic cannon, similar in build and look to the autobrite cannon, adjustment is very poor, produces a very low amount of foam untill the JW builds pressure, but even then it's not consistent.
The PA adjuster is quite stiff, not smooth like the rest.

Next up the Autobrite direct.£30
Looks similar the in2detailing lance., although has a better build quality and internal parts. Gives a good amount of foam, consistently from the start has good fan width, Pa adjuster is smooth, although the fan adjuster is a little tight

The Detail Driven lance. £29.
This has a fantastic build quality, wide mouth bottle, not top heavy like all the others.
foam consistency is very good and much thicker than the other 2. Pa adjustment is very smooth, fan width is the widest of all 4, both vertically and horizontally. The fan width is so good that I could cover the entire side of a car in 1 pass.

Lastly the MTM Pf22.
Again very good build quality, the highest priced here at;£50.
Has very good foam level again consistent with the DD lance, vertical and horizontal spray pattern. The fan width is not as wide as the DD lance, the video was done on its widest setting.
The Pa adjuster is very nice, it clicks on each setting unlike the other 3.

Overall my personal preference has to go with the DD lance, its priced extremely well at £30. Has all the benefits of the MTM, but better fan width, and the wide mouth bottle.
For me it's the clear winner in this test.
If your looking for a replacement lance and want good quality then look no further.

Thanks for the write up. Good and conclusive review. I have the lance from Direct Hoses was dirt cheap and makes good foam. Waiting for it to die so I can buy one like the DD with a wider base.

What is a QR gun??

kc
Quick release gun buddy, it replaces your existing Karcher lance

Managed to get one for the nilfisk with a half price mitt. Need to resist the short trigger gun for now though.

Once you've used one, you'll be a convert
, I'm sure you won't be able to resist that long

I am thinking a present for father's day 😀, already bought a 10m hose from direct hoses and that makes it so easier to get around the cars without dragging the pressure washer.

Sounds like a plan buddy.

I'd happily make you a list of fathers day gifts for car detailing 🤣

I already want a DA, I have bought some turtle wax hybrid ceramic black. Hoping to make pearl sparkle not that she doesn't already. I cleaned my mums car today as her mothers day present, i should of made a post with a before and after. It took 2 hours, a 20% surfex spray, snow foam, rinse, snow foam, auto wheel, rinse, contact wash, rinse, blow dry (didn't rate this first time I tried it), towel dry, cleaned door slams and boot. At the end I had one happy mum 😊

Sounds like a good wash buddy. I too use a similar process, blow drying works better of you sheet the water off first buddy, but if the car has no LSP it's only effective on the panel gaps, Mirrors, grilles, wheel etc

Sorry Rory, I'm a tad confused.

Post 26 isn't relative to the post you have just quoted??
Was referring to the DH foam cannon. It works well for me but needs a wider base.

@LeeJV Hi Lee, have you ever done a test to see what difference different dwell times make to the effectiveness of snow foam?
