Light scratch on my new car

<div class="bbWrapper">Hi all.<br /> Hope your all good..<br /> Just bought a new cla and even paid for the,well in deal,the stargaurd and when iv just cleaned it i noticed it now has a light scratch on wing.was not there before as cleaned it last week..<br /> My question is please,what can i Use to remove it,if i can?<br /> Think ill keep it in garage when not using it now..<br /> Any reply is welcome</div>
 
<div class="bbWrapper">Hi justin is it just in the lacquer if it is I think the stuff is called G3 great stuff have used it before it does a great job getting fine scratches out<br /> Hope this helps</div>

Yout can try flattish it with 3000 grit then polishing it out but if you go through the clear coat it's game over and a trip to the bodyshop. Where are you based mate?</div>
 
<div class="bbWrapper">For a very fine liquid, try Brasso first - sounds daft, but it's actually a very mild abrasive like jewellers rouge! There are also products like Scratch-X, but use a light hand and keep the &quot;abrasive&quot; moist with a water mist spray bottle. If you're successful, follow that with polish and wax - although as you've had the car starguarded it may not be necessary.</div>
 
<div class="bbWrapper">I used to hate getting that first scratch on a new car, watch or anything new to me.<br /> <br /> I've come to realise that until it's marked it's just the same as any other new thing, now it's marked the car is yours and unique. It will get more marks over time and subsequent ones will be less and less important.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Hi dr feelgood.....me to m8..so gutted..was same with my new van,kept it scratch free for 8 months ,then a gust of wind blew drive gates shut on it when puting on drive and dented and scratched paint off...now im not to bothered about paintwork...hahaha.<br /> Take care buddy</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">My advise would be to give the area a good rub with WD40 applied on microfibre cloth.<br /> <br /> It won't fix the scratch, but it will remove other deposits from the area and will allow you to see what exactly you are dealing with.<br /> <br /> It will most likely allow you to apply whatever rubbing compound you choose to apply on a much smaller area compared to what currently seems to need buffing.<br /> <br /> And it won't harm the paint... cost next to nothing so must be worth a try. It does not work every time, obviously, but it did save the day for me on quite a few occasions.</div>

Essentially it will 'lift' any residue that might have been deposited on the paint by the other vehicle (or object).</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">If it is just the clearcoat, I'd perhaps try some nail varnish to fill the scratch first then attack with an abrasive polish like Brasso to see it that solves the problem.</div>
 
<div class="bbWrapper">If you can feel the scratch then polishing with correct compound and a rotary or da is the only way to make it look better and take the eye off it, if it's down to primer then a smart repair or proper paint job will be needed, I wouldn't be using brasso or any other home items to try and make it look better as you could easily make it worse <br /> <br /> Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk</div>
 
<div class="bbWrapper">As much as I feel for the OP, unfortunately it won't be the first scratch or mark he gets...car parks seem to have much smaller spaces (more cars = more money) and other some road users are not exactly careful opening doors etc. Then there's stone chips...<br /> How do we keep our cars in pristine condition, apart from keeping them in a locked garage and never using them...</div>
