LIN message from component G2 (generator) faulty

Hi all,

Can anybody advise what code 2263 LIN message from component G2 (generator) faulty could be?
It's on my wife's W169 A Class 180 CDI, the car won't crank after just having the glow plugs replaced, I've also got another code relating to the Glow Plug relay would that also stop the car cranking?

dtc 2263 = turbo Get the codes read by something that understands your car for beter results on errors

Yes I intend to take the car to a Mercedes indie, the garage that changed the glow plugs got those codes

LIN (Local Interconnect Network) is a serial network protocol used for communication between components in vehicles. The need for a cheap serial network arose as the technologies and the facilities implemented in the car grew, while the CAN bus was too expensive to implement for every component in the car.

I am going to guess that a large fuse or fuseable link has blown and your system is registering a low or absent voltage supply
The alternator is linked to the starter solenoid and to the battery and possibly the glow plug supply. AND check all the large battery cable connections are sound.

Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread, turns out my earth wire had corroded hence the fault, got the work done at LC Blackburn Merc Specialist based in Darwen. Good service and reasonably priced!
