2003 e55 amg
I have been offerd a mercedes 560 sec amg from a friend its been sat in his workshop all paper work is there its low mileage car needs a paint due to being sat otherwise in good condition. What would people say something like this is worth?

I've seen them anything up to £10k depending on specification, condition and mileage.

There is a very nice example which I think was for sale on here at around the £15k mark (£20k to the general public) but it had a lot of work done to it inside and out - and it had a brand new interior.

Standard ones in original condition seem to be mid 4 digits.

Search from them on Pistonheads - there is a section for SEC and you can compare the one you are looking at with those to get an idea...

He was going to scrap it due to needing space and no use for it told me I could have it for £300 scrap value

I know neil but a ruff idea of what thay are worth its worth what someone is willing to pay but there is allways a price area

For £300 it's worth it, even if you don't fancy the resteration yourself I dare say you could punt it on quickly for at least a grand or strip down and sell as parts.

Theres a profit in it at £300, Price does depend on exact milage, year + how bad is the paint? is it a total resprey?

Paint is no pro lem as its what I do for a living going for a proper loom at it tomorrow get full details of it and a few pics will post it up.

I wouldn't worry too much about it then Mikey, if you can get the car for £300, paint it yourself (If needed) get i running, and as long as the rest of it is in good condition as stated, with say 50000 - 80000 miles i'd say you should be able to get £4500 - £5000 without too much more effort.

However as stated at the top, if you put the time, effort and a bit of £'s in it could be worth over £10K.

It's cheap enough , but is it a genuine AMG ?

Any chance of some piccys ?

Even if it's just an old SEC with AMG wheels , you'll make your money back on the wheels.

How long is a piece of string?

What String?

Going to see him tomorrow he said its a genuine amg with plaque ect all papers are there I don't mind putting work into it to sell or maby even keep it. Ill try get a few pics and post them up see what you guys think

Even if it has a few AMG bits on, at £300 you could sell a side skirt for more!

Grab it or tell me where it is so I can!

Any pictures yet?
