E270cdi
Hi
Been away from the Forum for a while. Last Car i had waa a 230E
which I sold some time ago.
Was out looking this afternoon for replacement for a Toyota Auris.
looked at a few Cars and spotted a CLK 270 CDi. I had the ML Jeep with 270 CDi engine many years ago. The Car in question is an 05 Plate 2 owner car with 54000 miles it appears to have been well looked after bodywork and interior very clean. Took it for a test drive went well gear changes seemed fine. Had a listen with the bonnet up and checked around for any leaks etc. all seemd in order. Pointed out that the Near Side tyre was a bit worn on the edge. Salesmen told me this would be replaced. One strange thing I noticed was on the rear boot lid their was no CDi badge . Instead their was a D4 Logo ?
Is their anything else I should check ?. I know a liitle about the Valeo Rad but not sure how to check which one is fitted.
Thanks in advance for any Help
Regards
ian

Didn't notice anything with Brabus on it. The car is well specked front and rear parking sensors plenty of kit inside heated seats etc. But no sat nav.
Don't know why it was badged with the D4 logo. Looked like it was their from new so must mean something ?
Was checking some insurance quotes seem quite high. Is this normal for the clk ?

Define high in terms re insurnace, it will be higher than an average car, but not very much so.

Try another CLK 270cdi, it may be this is a brabus one with extra power.

Thanks for the advice regarding the Brabus thing.
Best quote I could find for myself and the Wife was £390
This was on confused.com. I'm with Saga at the moment and they want £560
so it seemed it a bit high

£390 pa is not that bad re insurance.

WIth all cars, try and view a few before you buy. The CLK270cdi is within the sweet spot of the range.

You'll need to be sure on the Brabus thing otherwise you'll be in all sorts of difficulty with insurance if you ever try to claim.

Photos of car and engine bay might help - is the car advertised online?

Hi
Thanks for all the replies. I think the Brabus may have been a Hoax. The
D4 badge on the back may have been put their by original Owner for what reason I no not.
Car is at an independent Dealer they dont deal in Mercs they have a bit of everything. Had a think about the Car last night and after weighing up Pros & Cons I've decided not to go for it. Nothing wrong with the Car that I can see . It's the future I'm thinking of would have to get a Warranty plus the Service Costs & Insurance etc. Would not be making much use of the Car shopping trips and the Wife driving to work round trip about 12 miles. So would be a shame to have it sitting outside doing nothing.
Will have to keep looking .
Thnaks again for all the Replies & Advice
