Lovely G Wagen

It is a very strong ambition of mine to own a G (preferably a W463). I tnink they're fab.

I'm keeping an eye on this one but I know I won't be able to afford it!!

I sat in a 2011 one at a MB open day on Saturday.

£65K though.

It was perfect.

I seriously want one.

What do you think this one will make?

Very, very nice.

It actually comes with the original jack

And what's with the striped effect carpet? Has somebody really hoovered it up and down like mowing a lawn or is it that pattern?

Nice looking car though.

Thirsty engine that one.....:eek::eek:

Nice!

The carpet is a solid colour btw - it has been hovered to look like that...

Interesting feedback.

"A Big Crook and A Liar"

Looks like he will off e-bay but leave the auction running. naughty.

£17-18k? :(

Possibly, but I think anyone who knows G's will think twice about one with that engine so it may keep the price down That said it is otherwise a very nice example, so someone might buy it with a view to fitting a turbo diesel. Then it would be quite something.

I can't find official figures, but I know by reputation these are thirsty beasts, to give you an idea, the USA figures for a 300E Compare Side-by-Side show 15 15 16 (USA Gals), this is the same engine in a much lighter car. I seem to recall folks being pleased to get 18 out of their 280's. Might be wrong.

Yep, can verify 18 is a fair reflection on a good day. If you are in germany and drive at 90mph plus (indicated, I suspect a real 80 or 85) then I would look at halving that. These cars for mpg want to run under 60mph. It is one helluva barn door to push along. When its raining if you go over 70 or 75, (abroad) , the water actually runs forward down the bonnet. I guess the flat windscreen generates an enormous bow wave of pressure. Absolutely cracking machine though. Wouldnt be without ours.

18mpg?!!! To this day, I have not managed to get more than 13mpg out of my 300! Granted, it's all town driving around London traffic. It's getting a service at the moment so hopefully a small uptick in economy when I get the car back!

It's got to be worth buying a project G-Wagon and slipping a 3.2 CDI engine in hasn't it?

Hmmm...

I'm surprised you get that in London driving, I would expect lower.

I don't think it had even reached reserve.....
