Hi everyone,

I have a 2014 e350 bluetec rwd looking to get it lowered as the back sits way to high for me and generally just looks like a 1960's hot rod with the front being lower, I've had a look at the usual places like eBay ect and tried venom motorsport but I'm having no luck, I can find lowering springs easy enough but there either the same drop front to back or the fronts lower than the back, the car is a saloon and has springs all round, if anyone has any recommendations without me spending 4 digits on some coilovers that would be much appreciated.

No one really lowered a 212 then? Kind of wish it had the bags on the back like my 211 would be an easy task then....

Buy a set of H&R springs (probably the best) and just fit the back springs, job done.
:) 👍

Or Eibach Pro , should be F11-25-021-01-HA
wipe of the white writing and part numbers with thinners and hey presto you have a standard black spring and not some gay yellow , red or blue .

Eibach pro's as far as I'm aware and experienced are stock replacements so it wont change the ride height and if it does its very very minimal.

Had a quick look, all the springs I've found lowered the car the same all round, which doesn't help, it possibly looks like coilovers are your only option, if you want the whole car lowered but want the rear lowered more, unless anyone knows different?

Yeah that's what I found I spent a good hour looking but I think your right coilovers seem to be the only option I was hoping someone on here may have found somewhere selling springs that even the car out and lower it but that's looking unlikely, a bit of an extreme way of just wanting it lowered a bit 😩

I fitted H&R lowering springs to my W218 CLS (same underpinnings as your W212) lowered it all round approx 25-30mm IIRC. Part number 162737403999.

Don't try this at home kid's !

...or do 🤷‍♂️ ? I love the cartoon graphics

Do you have a before and after picture by chance? My car must sit about 20mm higher at the back so having the same drop all round will (I'm assuming unless some kind of sorcery is involved) just give it the same appearance albeit on a lower scale.

Giving how boat like the stock set up is I think ill avoid any cutting them

My only experience of cutting suspension springs was on the front forks of a motorcycle I was modifying , it went OK but I ended up buying different springs in the end.

I changed the wheels for 20" vossens prior to lowering it a while later, so don't have any 'like for like' pics I am afraid. All the pics on various wheels and suspension, are buried in my thread....

I have cut many springs in cars when i was younger, funny bit here was if you bought 1 merc 190 rear spring you could get 2 lowered uprated springs for the back of a mk1 & 2 fiesta.
How it would work in a modern car who knows

Just had a good look through your thread and got side tracked looking at your progress lol car looks great, interior is stunning! one of them builds you have to park next to a stock one to really realise how much has been done, very oem+.

As far as your stock ride height goes it looks like your cars more or less even from factory front to back as mines noticeably higher on the rear so I think I'm still back at square one

I think I've found something that may work, only brand I can find that sell a couple of different drops is LO so ill order a full set of 35mm lowering springs then they also they sell the fronts on there own in a 25mm drop so ill end up with a spare set of 35mm fronts but that's only option I can find that may solve the odd height, I've had the tape measurer out and I think 35mm drop on rear and 25mm up front along with some 10mm spacers should sit nice, I hope 🙈 ill keep you lot updated anyway for anyone that's interested...

Just a thought but are you sure the springs on the car at the moment are stock? Seems unusual for the back to be noticeably higher. If they are wrong then a standard set of lowering springs would give you the look you are after.

I've literally just took some photos after giving her a bath these are best I got you can more or less see the backs a lot higher, from my experience cars very rarely have an even arch gap so I never thought there was an issue with springs ect I think that's just how they are 🤷‍♂️ 1.JPG2.JPG3.JPG

I'm sure you are right as I say just a thought, love those wheels by the way I had them on our last car, so much nicer than what are on the new one.
