Hi,
I can't seem to locate any oxygen sensor in my 1994 E220 (W124), with the M111.960 engine.

There is definitely none all along the length of the exhaust, so for a while I thought it was on the manifold, as it seems from the EPC image attached.

Today I looked more carefully and found that there also appears to be no oxygen sensor on the manifold. Instead there is a bolt there as you can see from the picture. Is it fine that I have no oxygen sensor anywhere on my HFM Merc? Could it be that the sensor went bad and previous owners just plugged the sensor hole?

I sure hope this is not the reason the car has a bit high fuel consumption. I have not yet seen where the sensor cable would connect if it was there.

There should definitely be a lambda sensor located on the exhaust manifold where you indicate. Have you got a catalytic converter fitted? Lambda sensor is required for all catalyst equipped cars. IRRC it connects to a connector block beside the diagnostic socket in front of the brake servo on RHD cars.

I think I don't have a calalytic converter. Will check and confirm.
