M119.981 Oil Temp sensor - where?

On my 1998 W140 S420 the oil temp reads a constant -40° C using my mates diagnostic. Is there an oil temp sensor, and if so could someone tell me where it is located?

Not sure if your car has an oil temperature sensor at all which might explain the constant odd reading? The only oil temperature gauge I recall was on the old 16v Cosworth 190s. Maybe on some market models with a separate oil cooler?
