Hi there,
Viano w639 v6 120cdi on stock 17” alloys,
Had to replace security bolts with standard bolts, so purchased some standard Merc. Bolts m14/-1.5but they turned out to be too small in diameter, how come as Mercedes only does m12 and m14 bolts in various length.

Any advise please.

Are you sure you did not get an M12 instead of M14. Measure the diameter & length of an original bolt compared with what you bought

As above, sounds like you have M12 bolts in error.

The correct bolts are as below, taken from the Alloywheelsdirect website.

Shaft Length/mm: 45. Thread pitch: M14x1.5. Drive type: 17mm. Seat type: 14mm radius. Fitment: Mercedes 220/215/140/638/639/460/463

If you're sure you need whichever - M12 or M14 - I have a full set of each from an R171 (M12, possibly S203 M12!) and M14 (S204) which are traditional rusty MB bolt heads, yours for the postage cost as they are gathering dust in my garage! PM me if interested!

Doubt the M14 bolts are long enough Chris.
The OP needs them 45mm long.

(Sorted) Hi everyone, many thanks for your suggestions the bolts I’ve got was m14, but they were just too short to reach hub, once I took old one out and compared felt complete 🤦‍♂️

Many thanks again everyone.
