Hi, does anyone know where I can find the engine number in the engine bay for a w212?

This question is a tough one, im no hardcore enthusiast but hopefully someone who is will know the answer. Thanks in advance 👍

It’s in your cars log book , it’s also on the VIN plate in the engine bay and probably on the drivers door pillar as well ?

I would guess the stamped engine number will be on the main engine block and is probably hard to find

It should be on a plate under the plugs on the passenger side.
If you need it for parts, the engine number should be on your V5 and data card.
Not much help if you are checking the number on the block matches the V5 though.

Thanks Roger, your highly knowledgeable and certainly know your stuff👍💯 It's important to know where the engine number is, especially for anyone buying a car. I personally couldn't find it myself and wasn't sure where to look around the engine.

Hiding on a plate under the spark plug isn't too bad in terms of accessibility as I've seen worser hiding places, especially if the numbers are engraved onto the block and covered in grease.

Haha I wouldn't say I was knowledgeable, just in the right place at the right time.
I was under the car when it was on the ramp at MSL having the resonator removed.
I just happened to spot the plate under the plugs.:D
