Never posted in this section before so good morning to you all.

Looking at purchasing a machine polished and I don’t want to go higher than £100 so what do you experts say.
Its for my van.

TIA.

Thanks. I’ve heard of this on the detailing forums (gets coat and leaves) and I think they do a DAS-8 as well.

^^This 👍
Get a couple of Chemical Guys Hex Logic pads to go with it and some Scholl S20 Black compound and you've got hours of entertaining 'detailing' fun

I didn't realise the price difference between the advice products was so small these days, when I bought mine the price saving was considerable.

The Argos one has a 2 year warranty, the DAS one a 1 year warranty. All of them are made in China and probably cheaper on Alibaba.

I bought one from Argos as I don't want to spend a lot of money on something I'd only use a few times a year. Works perfectly although the price has risen since I bought mine. Velcro attachment and variable speed....

My Yorkshire tendencies pushed me down the Argos route Guild option, plus a 5 inch flexible backing plate/head from Amazon which then translates to compatability with all the Hex Logic ect pads. Argos one regularly on offer for £40 and I could afford to wait plus combined with my work Christmas bonus £25 all for one voucher/card which could be spent at Argos plus other places. But DAS6 seems cheaper than I remember. No bad options there I think for the occasional hobby user.

Edit: only complaint with Argos Guild one is short lead, which I'll swap out for 5m.

Cheers. I’m going to go for the DAS-6.

A mate of mine dropped off a cheapie Wax Wizard from Costco (£30) yesterday and I’ve just been dicking about with it on my van.

I was actually quite impressed with it for a really basic model so the plan is to give the van a decent going over with it and in a couple of weeks I’ll get the DAS-6 for a proper makeover.

We’re going to the Knebworth Classic Car show on the bank holiday weekend and daughter wants to take Jesse the Fiesta and park it up with all the other old Ford’s!!

DA - dual action is the one to get, its safe and great for beginners and professional use too.

Avoid rotary, requires a different level of skill to master, takes lots of practice and incorrect use can easily damage or burn through the paint. It took me years to get to grips with lots of practicing on a spare panel, would prefer DA any day over rotary unless the paint really needs it. 👍

All good advice and the one I got from Argos (above) is dual action.

Thanks. This is the sort of info I’m after.

What’s the difference, just out of interest.

DA,… think rotary orbital sander, takes a while to do anything to a bit of wood as opposed to a belt sander that soon makes nice wood into sawdust….

I bought a DAS V2, not had much chance to play with it but it looks and feels like a quality bit of kit. Sent a few quid in good quality pads etc just need the time to use it now.

Bit late to this thread, real life keeps getting in the way...

I have owned and used a DAS-6 PRO for many years now and still think it's one of the best machines available. I've always used Clean Your Car for my stuff as they've always been spot on with me and are extremely knowledgeable and offer plenty of free advice.

The reason for this post is that I've just been ordering some new carbon brushes for mine and, whilst checking out on their site, noticed that they have a 10% discount using the code DC10, which seems a good deal and may be worth looking for a bundle to include a few pads and polishes.

I would use that company....just because they are NOT called "DETAIL my car"!

I think these videos will probably help better explain then me. The third video is a very useful one that I watched several times, it's a must for rotary polish users 👍

I gave my van a jolly good clean yesterday afternoon after work so when I turned on the ignition this morning a very strange and annoying bleeping noise was coming from somewhere.

No warning signs on the dash or in the diagnostic computer so my only choice was to drive with it. 🤯

I turned the volume up and put the window down to drown it out on my drive to Sidcup to pick up some lead.

When I parked up and I thought about it, the noise was identical to the parking sensors so I gave them a clean.

It transpired that when I sprayed the bumpers with the black bumper spray it covers the sensors fooling them into thinking a vehicle or a wall is close by!!
👍👍👍🤯
