I have a 2000 W210 E430 Estate with 135k on the clock. performance is a little haphazard. idle is fine, and when driving normally there are no issues.

When I go to kickdown, it's hesitant and whilst revs will rise, it's slowly, then it's like flicking a switch and it really flies. If I do this a few times within the course of a journey, the engine light comes on. This goes out on its own aftera few starts.

Managed to read the codes last night, and I'm getting the MAF code P0100, and then pending codes for two of the O2 sensors and the purge valve (which has been ticking noisier of late).

So, I have a chicken and egg situation. I geuss the sensors and MAF all need replacing, but could one be throwing the other out?

Having priced the lot up (ex Purge valve) it's around £665 from Euro car parts, but I can get it for £350 from the USA. Has anyone got any experience of buying the parts from overseas?

Thanks

This sounds a bit pricey.

Just had to do the left bank oxygen sensor on mine - the garage I bought it off charged me £75 but on returning home a quick internet search on the part number and I could have picked up for £49 (Bosch part). Had this changed a year ago and another garage charged me full whack to fir a replacement but actually fitted a cheap pattern sensor which failed pretty rapidly. Bosch one should be fine.

Replaced my MAF a couple of months ago and it was £150.

That's a price for all four sensors and the MAF.

Where did you get your MAF from for £150 and was it a Bosch part?

You did well. They now want £225 for the Bosch part! Same part in from the US is £95 before postage and import duty.

Cheapest I've seen here so far is £169 inc VAT

Go to a Bosch centre and buy the insert instead of the whole MAS . A lot cheaper.

Does anyone have the part number for the insert only?
