Hello folks,

I bought a 53 reg c220 cdi last year on ebay. It didn't have a service history with it at the time, but the bloke i bought it from said it did have a complete service book all stamped up, but he had misplaced it when he moved. The car has only got 1 previous owner, so i figured it should have some service history from the beginning as i suspect very few people would buy a brand new mb and not get it serviced at a main dealer.

I was wondering, would it be possible to contact the local mb dealer and get a record of the service history (maybe a printout or something)?

If it has been serviced in the dealer network there should be a computer record. It may not include everything but the services should be recorded. Most dealers are happy to look it up/provide a print out

^ Don't mean to sound negative but "misplaced when moving" sounds dodgy,it could be true but a duplicate could/should have been obtained before sale.

Phone mb on 00800 1 7777777 and ask them.

I bought it on ebay about a year ago. To be honest, it didn't bother me too much at the time, but it barely gets driven, so i thought i'd sell it on to someone who had the time for it.

I went to the local Merc dealers and they tried finding a service record, but they couldn't find anything at all :(

ther are several things never to do when buying a car.

1. Is meet somewhere other than the sellers house.

2. Is believe them!!

Anything like its in the post or at the ex wifes house etc walk away.

The records are pretty carp at mercedes for anything before 2008ish.
If it was in NI then chances are you need to contact those dealers directly.
