Just been to Tesco's, get a few things as I'm heading off to the south of France tomorrow am.
Got one thing I didn't really want.

Some T**T managed to scrape my car in the car park and do a runner.

I parked out of the way as well, I usually do and when I went in the store there wasn't a car within 5 spaces of mine.

When I came out I was faced with this.

Doesn't look too bad and a good bumper repair man should be able to deal with it but I am one very unhappy man right now. It has to cruise the med looking like I dont care about it. I'd only just cleaned and polished it for it's holidays too.

Ba***rds !!!

Mate that looks like rubber from a tyre on the bumper, bit of a rub with some white spirit then t-cut then re wax, touch in the scrape on the arch and you'll get away with it i reckon ( at least till you get back) .

It's gonna need doing but i think you might be able to make it presentable before you leave :) .

Good luck and have a good holiday ....

That sort of thing really REALLY pi**ses me off!!

I feel for you Ray.

At least it doesn't look too bad. There doesn't seem to be any bodywork deformation, is there? so a smart repair will sort the wheelarch, and the plastic bumper should be relatively easy.

I suspect it may have been a trolley. The paintwork damage is fairly high up, and there's no residual paint

It could have been worse!

Think of it is your holiday car disaster. You've had it now, so you can relax :)

:( sorry to see mate , sink some of that glorius wine and food you'll no doubt be enjoying to stem the pain.

Looks like it will 'spit shine' OK, as Howard mentioned.

Sorry to see that Ray, like you I park well away from anyone. Well out of order not to stop and leave details. Any CCTV on the car park?

Mine was hit by, I guess, a trolley on the rear near-side. Nice little dent as a souvenir of my trip. Was mad at that, would be absolutely livid if the damage was as bad as yours

You already know my feelings mate. Use Marks and Spencers next time. ;) But seriously as I said in my pm, get it done right. I have invested too much time on your car keeping it nice :p

Tesco's car park strikes again.....Wifey's car was hit last year Hopping Mad

It's not always the cars parked next to you that do the damage, it's the one opposite that reverse into yours....

Very annoying. Does that car park have CCTV ?

Looks like I'll have to have another trip Up-Norf now ;)

Sad to see mate but not as bad as my mates 2 week old BMW 320d. Someone in our local sainsbury's car park managed to hit the side so hard it bent the chassis and wrote it off

Of course the bleedin security cameras were playing up at the time

Gutted for you Ray,Makes me mad when people just drive off  Lets hope that the damage on their car is much worse.

Now that sounds like a plan :D :D

Ray - gutted for ya - what a tw*t - pardon my french people

That's horrible Ray - try and sort it as best you can before the trip, and enjoy your holiday.

Again, as has been said - was there any CCTV in the car park?

Will

Noooo :(

Sorry to hear of your woes Ray :(

Like you, and many others, I also like to park away from the maddening crowds. Makes you all the more frustrated when numpties still manage to hit your pride and joy, it's like they are trying really hard to drive into a car that's out of the way.

I look forward to seeing updated pics in the gallery once you have your motor back to its peak appearance.

I've been back to the store and they're telling me there was no CCTV where I was parked.

I've polished it with T-cut and re waxed it and the bumper is a lot better but still far from right with a couple of deepish gouges, a lot of missing paint and some black marks that wont come off. The wheel arch however is a different story, it's a 4 or 5" scrape that has gone down to bare metal. Ever so slightly creased as well, maybe pushed in an 8th of an inch. I've coated it with Meguiars wax and it will have to do until I get back.
Thanks for the comments guys and Pammy, I'll be back on Sunday 9th so I'll look at geting it sorted then.

Looks a bit better now,If it were me I'd probably live with the bumper its the crease in the wing that would make me cry every time I saw it :(
