Earlier this year my car a 2008 E280 Sport estate starting using a lot of fuel and I could not figure it out, but it had dropped to around 24mpg when driven normally, yes I could get it up slightly if I drove it like my great great aunt but that was only up to about 26mpg, and it was not enjoyable driving like that. My love affair with this car seemed to becoming to and end.
It all seemed to happen after I had a ABS sensor fail on the rear of the car but could not see how that would affect the mpg.
I contacted MSL after I had tried everything I could think of (no codes where present) and Acid agreed to have a look at the map, as they had mapped the car some two years previously. Well a few weeks ago I took the car in and it was found that the old map had been corrupted in some way, possibly when the codes were cleared after the ABS fault. Acid spent a fair bit of his time on the car as the old map had to be wiped and then a 320 map was put into the ECU before loading an updated map. Acid asked me to see how the car drove and update him when I had covered a few miles.
Unfortunately I had to go into hospital for an unexpected operation and have only just recovered enough to drive the car this week. What a difference, the car is so much smoother than before and just keeps delivering it's power.
On Thursday I had to visit my mother in deepest darkest Wales which was just short of a 500 miles round trip and the car returned 37.4mpg with me enjoying the twisty bits and defiantly not driving like my great great aunt. So yes I am very pleased and happy with the car again.:bannana:
Many thanks to MSL and Acid in particular, their customer service is fantastic and I would certainly would not have qualms about recommend them.
