Hi,
It is possible to retro fit anything, its just if you have enough money and time to do it.
You would need to identify what parts you will need I would be asking myself questions such as,
Has your car already got electric seats? If so then you would need to replace the entire wiring to the seats as memory seats are fed from control units which are part of the cars CAN system, and non-memory cars are fed from a simple relay and multiple feeds from the rear fuse box, you would possibly have to replace the seat motors as well as they are different.
Have you got an electric steering column? This would have to installed and wired up to have the fully functioning memory system.
The memory system also stores different memory programmes specific to which key is being used so there is probably another control unit somewhere to do this.
To be honest if i was to attempt this I think I would want a donor car and remove the entire system from the car carefully documenting where and how the looms are run, control units mounted and to ensure I have all the parts, then it would involve some clever STAR work to activate the system.
I,ve retro fitted a full electric, heated, Orthopedic leather C43 interior into my C230k which just had non heated non electric cloth interior from the factory which was quite straight forward, but I would not of attempted it if i had,nt had a donor car to remove the wiring from.
If you are looking for possible retro fits for your 203 Peter (whitenemesis) is your man, he has completed many on his car.
It would also pay you to get conversant with the WIS and EPC so you can study what is required in each of these fits.
Good luck

thanks andy u've been really helpful. I owned a w203 once which had this extra function installed but I didnt have the money/time to transplant it to my new w203 vehicle. It didnt do much but it did look cool ;)

If it's just the look you want just mount the switches on the doors, don't bother with all this wiring malarkey!:)

mine is a 2003 C270cdi avantarde and I've the memory seat with the adjustable seat and steering wheel (with comfort access).
But the control on the door is different: that "funny" steering wheel switch :) is missing and it's by means of a small lever on the steering wheel column

probably it has been changed over the year,...I'm wondering how is nowadays:rolleyes:

...oh yes mine is not a fake:D

The MY2008 E220 I didn't quite buy last week has the memory seat (singular), and the steering wheel control is a stalk on the column. It works very intuitively, but I was a little anxious that having that, the cruise and the Everything Else stalk all on the left-hand side might occasionally cause the wrong one to come to hand. That said, it never happened while I was driving the car.

it's more like a show off extra than a useful one

I've the same little stalk for the steering wheel control, it never happened to me to make a wrong command...I'm more concerned about a possible borken feature, because, I agree, there are a lot of stuff and these are mainly to show off :D...but it's nice

For me the memory feature was the most appealing part of this car - relative to the other Es I've tried anyway.

The car we end up with will have two regular drivers, one of whom likes to sit significantly more upright and closer to the wheel than I do. The manual seats in my old Volvo are fabulously comfortable when set right, but it's a bit of a faff to get them there, and I get quite irrationally irked when that Other Driver has had the car and I have to start again. ;-)

The Mercedes system isn't as ergonomically intuitive as the one on new Volvos I've tried, and I'd share the misgivings about all those extra moving parts, but I'd still have liked to have it.
