A couple of months back I slid the drivers side seat all the way back, unknown to me at the time there was an air freshener under the seat, the type that comes in a tin. And it dislodged the little motor under the seat. I managed to get it back in place but had to partly remove the seat to do it. Now I find the drivers side memory function is not working, the seat moves with the door control's but when I press the desired memory button only the steering wheel moves back to the memorised position. I have tried using the other buttons ie. 2/3, but the result is the same, I get the "Beep" when I select a memory button but the seat does not move, only the steering wheel and door mirror. Will a "factory reset" make any difference or will it have to be "Star". Car is 2014 Diesel Auto Blutec W205. Many thanks.

Sounds like the position sensor has got out of sync - it's built into the motor. You could try moving seat fully forward and fully backward, but the W204 I have in the workshop needed me to do this with Star Diagnosis,

Thanks for your reply, I have just tried moving the seat fully forward / backward, but still refuses to adjust via memory button. How do I get the position sensor back in sync.?

Needs to be done with Star Diagnosis... So Merc dealer or Mercedes specialist . Takes about 10 minutes .

Thank you.
