Just installed 2 x 512MB SDD memory cards on my PC at home, but looking at the properties, my memory is only at 980MB. I am happy with the performance, just wondered where the loss is?

It's probably due to your system sharing video memory.

If you had a dedicated graphics card, the system memory would show it's full amount.

Go into control panel/system/general.

What does it say in there? Mine says 1.00 GB Of Ram.

And are you sure that you put SDD memory cards in your PC?

SDD cards are the ones you use in cameras and suchlike. Did you mean DDR?

Could depend on the quality of the Ram some are known to have a little leakage. Always buy the best.
