Merc illuminated star

I suppose it will help find your MB in the great car park on MBs ….

Are they even legal, given the regulations for the spacing and placement of lights?
The genuine Mercedes item comes with a control box, and it only comes on and off when you lock/unlock the car. It’s “off” whilst driving, unless you wire it yourself to be on all the time. But if someone wants to do that then they It would be much much much cheaper to buy aftermarket.

Whether it’s down to taste or legality, Mercedes feel it most appropriate to be switched off whilst driving.

Hi it was wired differently for different markets.
The US wired with the ignition.
Europe was wired with a control unit activated by the ambient light system and locking.
Here is a pic of mine taken this evening.

What time does the sun go down in Southampton ?

About the same time as Yorkshire?

I’ll give you that one :) I’ve just realised he posted at 2.22am, I wrongly assumed it was PM.

I saw one yesterday on a new G Wagen getting onto the Cumbrae Ferry at Largs , bright enough to stand out brightly on the sunny afternoon that it was .

It was actually my son who pointed it out , asking if it was an electric car ...

Was he by any chance eating razor blades :dk: :)
I didn’t look that closely , the vehicle was all black , with blacked out windows, so it is quite possible.

The illumination of the star , though , was as bright as DRLs .

It was lovey yesterday 😊 Parked up at the north end , next to the boating pond , and cycled down to the Marina .

I remember doing same a few years back wearing shorts and my legs were seriously sunburnt .

It’s almost as if lockdown never happened : both Nardinis were open , ditto green shutters , both chip shops , numerous pavement cafes , long queue outside Greggs , though Wetherspoons still closed ...

Although now living in West Lothian, my son is still in North Ayrshire, so I’m across pretty regularly. Ardrossan and Saltcoats were equally busy yesterday.

Old news. I’ve heard the entire grille is a 65” LED tv on next years model.
