I've just taken ownership of a new to us C200 2020 estate. Waking up this morning I noticed the back window was wet inside and having inspected the rear of the car it appears the door isn't fitted correctly along one side (passenger) does anyone have any advice? The second hand garage we bought the car from isn't open today and this is really upsetting. Thanks in advance. Pics attached which clearly show the difference on each side.thumbnail_processed-DAABDB71-9308-4660-8A8B-9E332987C0BF.jpg

Could it be from a previous repair - accident damage?

Trying to look in the pics, but are the gaps around the NS light cluster the same as the other side?

The driver side is completely flush, it's the passenger side only near where the lights connect and in the upper section near the roof. Thanks

Yeah I was asking if the gaps around the light clusters are identical on both sides - I wondered if it’s had a knock in the past?

If you open the tailgate you should find either side a 'buffer' on the body of the car that adjusts the fit of the closure. It could be the side that's sitting proud needs the 'buffer' adjusting. I'm not sure how it works on your model, but on my old S204 it needed a hex key to loosen it.

It looks as though it’s out of alignment at the hinge end though too (where it meets the roof and top of the rear quarter?)

Yeh it's also there too - thanks for the help so far everyone. Really frustrated by this...

Has it had paint repair - can you tell?

If you’ve just bought it, I would ask the garage to resolve.

Keep it somewhere dry or tape over for now?

Was the misalignment not noticed when you looked at the car?

Did it come with an HPI (or similar) check?

Would it be these you're referView attachment 167000ring to?
That's the chaps- funny how the memory works, I thought they were Hex but they're Torx. Anyway, if the tailgate is also out at the top (and it does look like it as Will says), that s suggests there may be more to it than just the buffer adjustment. Any sign of new paint under trims or window seals?
