Mercedes digital screen comes on and off

Hi all,

I have a Mercedes E220D W213 2016 plate. The digital screen comes on and goes off again. Mercedes RAC did a software update, but the problem is still there.

I am not under warranty as i have owned the car for 5 years now. Mercedes charge up to £3k for a new screen. I was wondering if anyone has been in the same position as me and would they reommend any third party companies who have helped resolve their issue for a lower fee. I have spoken to some mechanics and some have said its a risk buying a second hand screen as it may not work but then other mechanics have said they have had no issue installing and recoding the second hand screen. Not sure who I trust.

Would be great to get some feedback what my options may be.
