Mercedes door closing Anthology

Did the change in closing ease coincide with the introduction of burst resistant doors and or the "double latch"?
 
Don't modern MBs leave the ventilation flaps open for a little while after the key is removed to counter this?
 
I think the poor man in the video has too much time on his hands!!
 
I can think of more interesting hobbies , perhaps watching paint dry or grass growing for example
 
I know some engineers who have this as a career, though they do apply a bit more science to the application.
 
All or most cars have one way rubber flaps at rear bumper level, for the forced air to escape from when door is shut one either side.
