Hi everyone.
I have a decision to make maybe you can help me changing my mind. What are the Pro and Cons for adblue deletion? I have a E class 220 from 2017 and I'm really fed-up spending money on adblue sistem. All the nox sensor failing and then the adblue pump a lot of money spend on adblue. Someone had recommended just to delete the adblue,is anyone done this? What are the pro and cons for doing this? If delete the adblue it can be undone.?? And what are the cost of doing this because I have been quoted £600 a lot cheaper than to spend in adblue sistem.
Thank you

Egr delete, CAT delete/remove, DPF delete/remove and now Adblue delete, is this legal ? would the MOT pick this up ?

There are no mechanical downsides to AdBlue delete - not as far as I know, anyway. And it can be later reversed.

However - it will make your car illegal to drive on public roads (the tuners who carry out the AdBlue delete will have it stated in the small print)... and potentially also invalidate your insurance.

Your options are to either take a chance with the AdBlue delete... or, instead, quickly trade-in the car before the EML comes-up again and buy a petrol car instead.

I am not aware of anyone getting in trouble due to AdBlue delete, apparently it is not (currently) detected in MOT testing, and also I am not aware that an insurer actually found-out and invalidated the cover. And, quite a few members in here seem to have done this without consequence.

However.... personally, I wouldn't do that. I like to sleep well at night. Though I am aware that some people will sleep well regardless :D

Which e class do you have? W212 or W213? I thought 212s have the ad blue issues mainly..

The situation today is that you could delete the adblue system (nothing is physically removed it is a software patch) and you will 99% likely get away with it. It won't be picked up on the MOT. However.......you will have made your car illegal to use on public roads - and judging by the number of people having this carried out it is only a matter of time before either the MOT is tightened up or spot checks are carried out. Best to get rid of the car before everyone else works out that is the answer. Plummeting residuals might wake MB up to provide an economical maintenance solution - that's all it would take to make these cars a great ownership proposition.

Adblue delete merely removes from the ECU mapping, the request to check Adblue levels and presence and will not fail your MOT as adblue is only used at cold and if your engine is sitting on idle for a lengthy period to reduce emissions. Stage 1 tuning and adblue delete £200.

Has anybody had the adblue deleted and then had an engine light, with very slight lad when the light is on?
