I wish I was joking

, but I can only go on my experience.
A friend (experienced engineer) had a new
Volvo and had problems with the screenwasher sensor throwing up dash warning lights, which the dealer couldn't resolve initially. He'd used a generic screenwash. Eventually, after a system flush and Volvo screenwash, problem didn't reappear.
I spent ages removing a rear roof spoiler and rear wash set up on a relative's car after the
washer nozzle became blocked due to the fluid crystallizing - it took me hours and was a real pain, so I remember it well. Despite my 'advice', they'd not used the specified fluid and used a supermarket ready-mixed and, possibly due to limited use, it crystallized in the supply pipe and nozzle. Cleaning it wasn't difficult, just time consuming. Crystallizing can also cause rarely-used headlight washers to block.
Of course, regular use of the washers might prevent a problem, but as I have a few cars, some don't go out in the wet, so less use of washers, so I might be more conscious of it.
I remember when life was easy and we didn't have hundreds of different specs for oil etc. and I still have loads of generic washer fluid in the garage but I only use it on the older cars, with simple systems.
I don't think your car has a level sensor but it will have headlamp washers, as it looks like a Sport with the ILS. I think they're good cars, I've had my 350 (265) coupé (from new) for 12-years, the longest I've kept anything other than a classic or sports. I specced it as I wanted it and have just hung on to it, no idea what to replace it with.
