Been mb service history been garaged only 41000 miles looks clean, an said can have full check from RAC who my breakdown cover is with. It's at £5201 is it worth that or much more ???? I'm debating ????

ok thanks just if buy it before check will have no leg to stand on private sale. Was going to get checked. They said on phone anything over 2 Ltr is £3??

You are far better off taking it to a decent independent.

The kind of inspections you are looking at are less effective than taking your mate down the pub I understand.

If you post up your region, you might be near a decent one on here...

Also get the owner to print off a complete MOT history with advisories.

Just need to enter reg number and V5 doc ref no or no from last MOT.

A main MB dealer will also print off all main dealer service records (if you ask nicely).

THANKS mister mannikon I missed out on buying it on eBay it went past what i was going to pay for it. But I think there is something not right about the sale on eBay as all the bidders where private listings ? I had feeling it could be is friends or family helping get the price up. But thanks anyway.

Wouldn't surprise me. Shill bidding is rife and I don't suppose the website owner is particularly driven to sort it out given more cash for them potentially.

As you were - set a budget and stick to it. You might see the same car come back on and possibly the same thing happen again. We've seen examples of this on here before.

I personally think it is a good price, if the body work has no painting or dents and mechanically sounds good!
