Mercedes Have re-advertised my damaged van

That's one hell of a strange domain name they are using, to be affiliated with Mercedes etc ??

Is this the one that had paint issues?

If it is, there will be plenty of people who don't care, for many this will be a piece of equipment with which they earn money.

If it were a private car it would be muc more of an issue.

Yeah paint (poor repair and contamination), and some kind of prang on the drivers side front prior to registration. It is true tho most van purchasers would not be so fussy.

The van is a friday afternoon job. I guess the point I am trying to make is that you purchase from MB dealers to expect the best quality. this vehicle does not live up to this.

I just cant understand why would they take pictures of an interior that is still dirty? I guess they are marketing it to someone who is not bothered...

The price does not even reflect a used van ,

My colleague paid 12 grand for a brand new one with delivery miles from Motorpoint in Glasgow a couple of years ago . I think it was part of a cancelled order , hence the discount , but if dealers can sell on new vans for that price there is no excuse for charging £2K more for a used one with 10K on it and damage .

It's an auto and the new shape, so it's worth more than £12k new

I'd love to know the mpg of an auto Vito, I bet you'd struggle to get into the thirties.

The manual ones aren't much good.

I have to say I can't really see the point of this thread, OP got a new van, and MB Croyden had to do something with the old one, they were never going to throw it away...

My pal's one listed at 18 grand odds when he bought it , granted the older shape now but brand new when he bought it with delivery miles .

He tells me he easily gets 40+ mpg with his .

I owned a 115 Auto for 4 years from new (54 plate). I would get mid 30's most of the time in that and more on runs.

I had an XLWB '05 115 CDi with 100k on as a runabout for a month and was lucky to see 20mpg round town and 30mpg on the motorway, Mercedes commercial vehicles are shocking on fuel.

I had plenty of fun on wet days going around roundabouts, though...;)

Actually , having compared the one in the advert listed by the OP with my colleague's '59 plate one in the work car park when I was leaving , they look the same shape to me , the dashboard pictured looks the same as my pal's van - except he has a normal radio as opposed to the Command screen . It is certainly a W639 and not the earlier W638 , having looked up the two generations on the internet .

So I stand by what I said re - if you can get a new one discounted to £12K , then £14K for a used one strikes me as too much .

I'd also imagine automatic ones will be harder to shift , since few van buyers look for automatics ( I have never actually seen one in the metal ) .

Not being a van expert , any visible difference has eluded me .

headlights, front grille, mirrors upholstery trim and minor dash uogrades hardly noticable to the naked eye are all they did. Plus a few under the bonnet mods

Nick

32mpg was my average. i got 40 from the courtesy van (swb 109 6spd manual)
