Hi, I bought a set of W221 wheels for my Vito but I was shocked when the wheel would not go on the hub as it had 4 lips inside it.

I thought all MB wheels had the same hub size.

The MB hub size is the same, what do you mean by 4 lips? Are the wheels genuine?

Hi Yes they are genuine (AA2214012102)
Around the inner circle there are about four bumps which wont let the wheel sit on the hub. The wheel centre said they could be machined out smooth on a lathe...

sounds very odd: unmodified 221 wheels should fit a 638 or 639 vito without issues. They all have 66.5mm centre bores.

Hi, below are a picture of the ridges.

The ridges simply provide centering for the wheel - the centre bore of the ridge peaks is 66.5mm. Photograph the vito hub > there's something strange going on!

Are they genuine original Mercedes wheels or aftermarket replicas ?

they are genuine (AA2214012102)

Hub pic as requested.
A wheel specialist has said use a spacer.

Do you have a vernier calliper to measure both sizes?

The hub looks to have a large chamfer on it. Does the wheel initially slide onto the hub?
Did your wheel specialist actually view the components?

no it does not slide on at all

and it's definitely not a Sprinter?! (84mm)
What's the measurement across the Outside Diameter of the hub?

no its a 2004 vito, not sure now as wheel is back on

THis is now sorted, there was an o ring on the hub that needed to be taken off with a chisel/hammer.
Now just need to find 65mm + length bolts.

Does it matter if the bolt is fully threaded, or does it have to have the plain bit before the head?
