Hi everyone, today I attached my CTEK trickle charger to my car as I’m not using it for a while and we have freezing weather. I thought I’d check the Mercedes me app and it states the remote o troll is deactivated and the ignition is on, which clearly it is not!
Is this an anomaly because the car is being trickle charged?
Many Thanks for any advice.

Did you switch the ignition on?
Mercedes Me has a habit of reporting things 10 or 15 minutes after the event, many a time after removing luggage from the car and going up to my hotel room, Mercedes Me would tell me the car was unlocked, after a trip downstairs to check because I knew I had locked it, I would find all doors were locked. Soon learned to ignore Mercedes Me and rely on my own memory.

All I did was unlock the car to release the bonnet, then I immediately locked the car again. I’m thinking maybe because the battery is charging Mercedes me thinks the ignition is on!

What did you connect the negative (black) connector to, the battery or an earth point?

If you connected it to the battery then it may have confused the battery management system. If so, try disconnecting it, starting the engine (letting it run for a minute or two before switching off) and reconnecting it to an earth point instead.

How is the mobile signal in your area, and ideally on Vodafone specifically. If the car can’t get a signal then the status won’t update in the app.

I’ve connected the trickle charger before always the black connector to the earth stud! The mobile signal is not always good but I’m sure it updated at the time of locking the car! The car hadn’t been used since last night.
