Mercedes Me

Maybe someone can answer this, I've bought two MB's recently, both only months old. When I tried to register for Mercedes Me, both cars are apparently still registered with the previous owners.

Does that mean the previous owners still have access to everything Mercedes Me can do on both cars?

Russ

Yes.

Did you buy them from a main dealer?

I was in the same situation but my car was purchased from an independent dealer.

A bit scary really considering most people wouldn't even know to check!

Although not ideal the worst they could do is locate the car and open it.

I bought mine from JCT and Mercedes Me was still registered to them as they were the first owner. They registered it to me within 24hrs

the MB retail dealership should be able to sort that. They are meant to de-register them before they sell them.

I had a E Class coupe direct from MB Tongwell and at thee d of my loan returned it to their compound. I did not deregister from MercedesMe. It went to an airfield in Bedfordshire for a few weeks then to a dealers in Birmingham. I set geofencing when it left Birmingham and travelled to Paisley and parked at a house. At this point I deregistered. On the journey up the M6 I could see if the roof or windows are open fuel consumption and position.
MB should have deregistered. I could have gone on following the car for ages and played around with locking and unlocking but my better side said stop.

Mine didn't work, back to he drawing board! :fail

You have to leave the app open on your phone in the background, as I assume it uses bluetooth to send the instructions rather than the 'suggested' over the air.

I found this out to my dismay.

Thanks for that but still no joy!

Sitting in the Car, Sat Nav on, access Mercedes Me, Mobility, Where do you want to go?, Select destination entered yesterday, select "Send address to my vehicle" Message returned "Unable to send address to vehicle" :fail :wallbash: :dk:

Mine comes up after about 20 seconds when i click the nav button.

Have you logged into the Portal, just to make sure you're active? not sure if it will make a difference, mine says - Activated services: 15 of 15

This is exactly what happens to mine. It did work originally but now doesn't.

It's stopped working for me now too. I wonder whether the app has been updated and a bug introduced for some owners?

Quite like the app but it is flaky at best when trying to connect using a Samsung S7.

The 'send address to car' doesn't work at the moment and I can't find the equivalent option on the web portal which would actually be more useful.

I logged into the Portal yesterday and today just to make sure I had not missed a setting, I have the same as you: "Activated services: 15 of 15" :dk:

I will have to play with it over the Weekend! ;)

Interesting to note that other users that DID have the facility now don't!

Samsung 5S this end and it has always been quite robust, I agree with you that the 'send address to car' facility would be much more useful in the Portal, better Keyboard and bigger screen and possibly Copy & Paste!

Mines an iphone 7, not sure if this makes a difference, any dealer will be able to help i'm sure

Anyone know if the sending a location works with a W204? The app on my phone says it couldn't send the address, but I'm not sure if that's because the car doesn't have this ability, or because it's not working properly.

On my 2013 W204 it works through here.com, but only from a PC (i.e. it does not work from the mobile phone app).

Said that, my COMAND Online is of the older type where the Internet connection is achieved via tethering to my mobile phone.

Later W204 cars (from around mid-2013) had the communication module fitted with built-in Simcard, so the method might be different for these later cars, I do not know.

That's a good point. Mine requires a mobile tethered for internet. So maybe I can plot a destination on my phone - but only if I'm right next to the car (and maybe the ignition needs to be on too?)
In which case, not terribly useful.
