Mercedes SLR Watch

Saw this on Gizmodo a while back, thought I would share to know what the watch enthusiasts here think of it . I personally like it much but don't mind me I'm keen on chunky watches!



" The Tag Heuer SLR and Carrera are two watches inspired by the lines of two well-known sports cars that we’ll never own. Like those selfsame sports cars, these pricey timepieces are fast, expensive, and uber-sexy. The SLR, shown here, is completely automatic and has an internal rotating chronograph. It comes in a limited run of 3,500 and definitely is a massive departure from the traditional Carrera design Tag has been famous for—shown after the jump.
The Carrera is a bit more staid and is essentially a retread of the first Tag chronographs used for years in racing events around the world. No prices, but we can’t afford them.

I think you'll be less keen on the chunky price tag (ha ha) those watches come with!

Can't remember, but it wasn't cheap.

i think i am right in saying this, but you can only get the SLR watch if you buy an SLR. and as such they are doing a limited run of 7500, to match the car too.

altho Naseems maybe available.

am rummaging thru some racing line mags to find if i have the first release of them. it is possible that they owners get one and they are releasing 3500 for the public as it were.

I think watch makers should stick to making timepieces and car manufacturers to cars.
Its a bit "designer".
"Limited Edition" watches like this rarely interest collectors...
TAG`s dont seem to have much of a reputation either way.
Its cheesy.
I would hope SLR owners would choose something more interesting than this.

Overall it looks similar to the MB watch my wife bought me for my birthday!! In fact the strap looks near identical?

a little google taught me that there already was a SLR watch from Tagheuer you could only get if you bought an SLR crazy and it was a completly different watch

The new watch seems to be avalaible for "everyone" (read: every rich one)
I guess it should be quite expensive but can't be more than an Omega...
