Can someone explain to me how Digital Servicereports work in respect of Specialists.

I have picked up a 2010 E Class and there was one mercedes dealer stamp/printout and a couple of specialists stamps or printouts.

I spoke with the specialist who did the work previously and he has confirmed that there was other service and work done on the car aside from what i have in the records that i have printed (from a Mercedes Dealer).

How do specialists and dealers systems interact to keep the data up to date at either end?

Does it only keep a log of service items only and not other work?

Aside from telling me when the next service is due would the OBC tell me of any other issues that need sorting etc (ie brake pads/discs)

Digital service reports don't work in terms of specialists. Unless they have access to upload into the data base which iirc they do not.

That's why a good old service book is needed as well if the car leaves the dealer network.

Car had sensors to tell you pads etc are low but a mechanic can check this over
 
its weird because the main dealer did have access to two of the specialists services
 
I know SPR in Stockport can upload to the database, unse if this for everything or just actual services..
 
Yes many indies do have access to the digital service record system so can upload the details of your service onto the system. This can be seen by the main dealer.
 
Yes we have access to DSB at Mercland... All cars we service get uploaded onto it... well the ones that qualify.

I think i might be paying you a visit then jay. I live in rugby but work in leic....do you do courtesy cars?
