Mercedes Vito W447 Spare Keys

Hi

Can anybody recomend a dealer or independant garage who can cut spare keys for a 2018 Mercedes Vito W447? I am getting quoted over £400 from my local dealer.

From what I have readon the internet it looks like these can only be done by the main dealer but if anybody has any ideals then I would appreaciate it.

The keys are two part. There is the electronic unit made from black plastic, and there is a metal blade that serves as the attachment for a keyring when it is inserted into the black plastic "key".
The only part that can be "cut" is the blade, and that only really serves to unlock the driver's door in the case of power failure or the like. the cost of that blade is relatively little by comparison.
The Plastic unit that we use to insert into the dash & turn to start the vehicle needs to be matched to the vehicle.
Mercedes will sell you one, as you point out it's around £400 from them.
There are some specialist companies that are able to supply you with one, but they usually need you to take your vehicle to them.
I believe there is one of those companies based in Leeds, as it happens.!

Hi, I'm sorry but I don't know who they are.
The only reason I know, is that I purchased my replacement key from Mercedes after driving to the dealer with my ownership documents & proof of identity. Then, not long afterwards I saw an advert for a company in Leeds offering to supply a key coded to my ECU for about half the price I had paid Mercedes.
I did a google search then, and it seemed that there are a few companies around the country that offer the service.
