mint condition, dry stored 123

Nice condition, but in honesty, manual W123s are not nice to drive. They are badly geared, and the gearchange and clutch leave a lot to be desired.

Also those round headlamps on a W123 are lousy and they are far better with the square type of lamp.

never driven a 123, manual or auto.... but i suspect you are well correct there! a manual merc is never good!!

but i want one!!

my first serious accident was in W123 ..

My mate was driving my father's white manual 200E .. with light green cloth and MBTex interior. It was 6 months old. Mate was not supposed to be driving.

For some reason, mate stuck the car into reverse, and went back at high speed. Hit a tree on the driver's side, front wheel hit a big kerb (big enough to sit on).

Felt quite cushioned but what a lot of damage. Small miracle my Dad didn't kill me.

Lost touch with mate now ...

Is that an original Mercedes colour?

Looks more like it belongs on a Ford Capri.

Ask Jaymanek to look at it for you..its his stomping ground. he could turn up in something non-merc and see what BS the seller comes out with. He may even know the seller.

i'm not in a position to buy at the moment - need to sell the 124 saloon 1st before i can consider another car

The guy that is selling this sounds like a true sheepskin cars salesman.....he has a Daimler sovereign coupe for sale and he says:

"THE DAIMLER SOVEREIGN COUPE IS A PURE DEMONSTRATION OF DAIMLER OVER ENGINEERING AT ITS BEST. AS THE OLD SAYING GOES THEY DONT MAKE THEM LIKE THEY USE TO."

Anyone who has ever owned one of these ( and I have) would know that they are totally and utterly unreliable and are riddled with rot.

I know the seller very well... not going to make any comments on a public forum.

he sells a lot of older MB's and usually its spivved up R107's he sells.

Thats not an original colour, well not if its metallic... they did do an orange, but it was a different shade.

the interior is not half leather, its half Mb tex...

If anyone is interested I could happily make a call to him but buy with eyes open.

I think you have said plenty Jay;)

Barge pole anyone??:D

Well not necessarily... he has had some genuine nice cars through... I was even tempted with a Ponton he once had... all im saying is that it could be that its been "refurbished" as this is what he normally does.
then again, it could just be a really nice part exchange he has had...

Worth a look but I wouldnt hit buy it now until id seen it in the flesh.
