HI All
Newbie here, but not new to Mercedes!
I have a 2001 ML 55 AMG, which is intermittently blowing fuel pump fuses. I have changed the relay. I can sometimes go about week before it drops out and has eaten another fuse. other times it can burn through about 6 in 10 minutes.
Has anyone else had this issue? Potential searching's online are indicating x18 wiring harness, faulty fuel pump, or clogged fuel filter. If its the fuel pump it is in a difficult place to get to so wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this problem before.

thank you!

its drawing too much current and blowing the fuses. normally the filter in the pump gets clogged and causes pump to overwork nd die. If like the w211, the filter is like a little teabag in the pump housing, not supposed to be replaceable , sounds like pump may already be shot anyway. you can devise something up or try and find another unit, mb may not supply anymore , but bound to be an aftermarket company who supply.

good luck!

Thanks for your response!
I think (if I have read the drawings correctly) the ML55 filter is a separate bit outside of the tank with the regulator on it. It’s just the pump in the tank.
Looks like I’m going to have to pull the back wheel off and have a gander before I look into moving the seats out!
