Ml gearbox kick

hi all again just a quick one ...when i start car and pull away first gearchange always gives a little kick but only does it once then fine the car is a 52 ml 270 any advice please many thanks....??

mine does the same I went to a mechanic friend and he said due to fact of an auto the gear box oil drops to the bottom of box when starting the car the oil runs to the top as fast as possible mine some times if i start and go it does it but if i start wait then go it doesn't kick maybe yours is the same

One of my pals had the same issue with his ML320 CDi but he took it for a gear box service at mercedes they changed the oil, filters etc and it seemed to be fine after that.

gear box service shoudnt cost more than £180 with mercedes it's worth having it done specially if the car has abit of high milage, you will notice smooth gear changes, faster kick downs.
